This is a Remote (WFH) position with preference given to applicants in the Southeast. 

 

 

What work will you perform?

You will solicit new customers as well as contact, develop and service Landstar's current enterprise customers.  The VP of Corporate Sales actively pursues representation with these accounts to improve Landstar market share and penetration.  You will increase revenue across multiple product lines including Landstar's value added Supply Chain Services opportunities.

 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Hire staff and manage multiple territories across up to half of the U.S. and Canada.  
  • Utilize available industry news and events, as well as online and social media resources to help Corporate Account Executives (CAEs) network and prospect for new business.
  • Provide sales leadership to agents, Corporate Sales, and Landstar field organization.
  • Develop and maintain Corporate Sales personnel’s abilities to grow customer relationships with all key decision makers.
  • Participate in meaningful forms of customer entertainment whenever possible and appropriate.
  • Support and participate in the successful transition of currently assigned accounts to field staff or other Corporate Sales Executives as applicable.
  • Help CAE staff become subject matter experts for all modes of service in Landstar’s current portfolio.
  • Manage Salesforce database and all other reporting functions in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Help CAEs develop a planned sales cycle for all key assigned accounts.
  • Possess and retain knowledge and understanding of Landstar tools and technologies
  • Routinely ride and meet customers with CAEs in their respective territories.
  • Discuss planned sales cycle for all key assigned accounts in each Territory of responsibility.
  • Become a point person with internal knowledge of Landstar Corporate departments.
  • Report quarterly on top 20 accounts
  • Weekly interaction with direct reports

 

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of sales experience
  • 2 years of experience managing a sales team

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in logistics, transportation, or business
  • 3 years of sales experience in the international market

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiar with MS Office and Internet
  • Ability to travel 50% or more of the time
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of financial statements
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a passport for international travel 

 

Licenses:

A valid driver's license without restrictions is required.
