ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Sustainable Packaging Solutions Intern will be part of a team of packaging engineers responsible for design, development, and testing of innovative sustainable packaging solutions.  Pregis engineers use a material neutral approach and consultative strategy to develop packaging solutions for the most demanding shipping environments.  This team member will be exposed to a variety of products and materials during the internship, in which they will support the design and testing processes.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Packaging design and development to meet our client’s needs and applications
  • Perform distribution testing in our ISTA certified testing lab
  • Create packaging analysis reports as a deliverable to the client
  • Produce samples and prototypes as part of the proposed solution to the client
  • Utilize SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD, and CAD cutting table for package prototyping
  • Personal management of multiple projects with critical timelines
  • Collaborate with sales and clients to seek the most optimal packaging solution

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

Education & Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in a Packaging program at a recognized university
  • Junior or Senior status with the university
  • 3.0 or higher GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Very strong written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable with presentations and public speaking
  • Exposure to and basic proficiency in software packages, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.), AutoCAD and/or Solid Works, Cape/Tops
