Job Summary 

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, preventive, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Engages in setting up and maintaining machinery and equipment. Engages in repairing and maintaining parts of equipment and machines.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The right candidate will lead their job with a strong safety mindset including but not limited to:

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Ensures timely repair of facility, equipment and machinery.
  • Oversees building and manufacturing equipment.
  • Engages in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Carries out inspections of facilities and equipment’s to identify issues.
  • Tracks workstation and personnel supplied tools.
  • Performs preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Responds to emergency calls for maintenance.
  • Performs troubleshooting to diagnose and solve repair issues.
  • Communicates plans for upper-level improvements to maintenance personnel.
  • Helps direct any additional repairmen and subcontractors as needed.
  • Submits repair logs and reports on daily activities through E-Maintenance.
  • Aids in the development of safety policies and procedures.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Researches parts needed, and generate parts request to ensure adequate inventory, while informing the team on inventory levels.
  • Reaches out to external sources for quotes.

  • Knowledge of warehouse arrangement and functionality.
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems with an emphasis on pneumatic systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Strong organizational skills.

 

Environment

  • Exposure to moving equipment.
  • Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit .
  • Humidity may exceed 80%.
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+.

 

Physical Characteristics

  • Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%.
  • (up to 60 pounds).
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.

 

Position Type

  • Willing to work off shifts (on-call)

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years Maintenance experience.
  • Forklift certification per OSHA standards.
