POSITION NAME: Sports Activity Staff

LOCATION: Herman & Kate Kaiser YMCA

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of the Youth & Family Director, the sports staff will be responsible for monitoring all Open Gym activities, practices, and Full Court play for members and youth participants. General duties include the enforcement of all YMCA operating policies and procedures as well as ensuring a positive environment for members in all assigned areas. Effectively monitor the open gym schedule ensuring proper play during games and other activities as assigned. Other duties include facilitating sports practices, officiating games as needed and demonstrating a caring role model for youth. Ensure on-going cleanliness of facility and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Age 16 or older (18 years of age preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years experience working or playing in youth sports programming

• Volunteer or staff supervision experience
• Knowledge of YMCA sports rules and games that includes: Basketball, Volleyball, T-Ball & Soccer
• Physically fit to facilitate sport practices or officiate YMCA games

STATUS: Part Time

SCHEDULE:Monday-Friday afternoons, and every Saturday during the YMCA Youth Sports Season

STARTING SALARY: $9.00 Hourly
