Senior Program Director, Evidenced Informed Programs
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The full-time Senior Program Director position will work as part of a dynamic, caring and hopeful team to lead a cohort of school aged services staff ensuring high-quality programs where students experience achievement, belonging and relationships. Specifically in this role, the Senior Program Director will oversee a group of grant funded afterschool and summer programs in Shelby County (Memphis), TN.

This person must understand the basic concepts, vision and mission of the YMCA to ensure the successful operation of these programs and the development of new program initiatives including staff leadership and development, community relations and collaborations, partnerships and policy, budgeting and financial results.
Directs and supervises assigned school-based afterschool and summer youth programs to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
Administers curriculum and evidenced informed programming to kids and families through several program locations
Recruits, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers as needed.
Reviews and evaluates staff performance and coach as needed. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations.
Ensures that the program operates per quality, licensing and safety standards.
Ensures all grant requirements are implemented and reported as required.
Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation
Develops reports as required for grant funding.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships and good communication with all stakeholders.
Monitors & meets program budget for fiscal objectives.
Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all participant and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum 18 years of age
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related field or an equivalent combination of directly related experience, training, and or education.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing programs (designing, implementing, and evaluating youth development programs) to include some experience supervising staff
Ability to meet DHS licensing requirements
Ability to travel to multiple locations
Must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline oriented workplace
Highly organized with the ability to and handle multiple tasks
Ability to build effective teams within your assigned locations and across other divisions
The full-time work schedules may vary per the Y’s hours of operation. Most Y’s are open 7 days a week:
Mon. – Fri. 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
This position requires a flexible schedule will some evenings and weekends at certain times of the year.
