Camp Counselor - Traditional Camp

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: 

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all. 
 

Position Purpose:  The Lionville Community YMCA is looking for enthusiastic leaders to help make a positive impact on our campers this summer.  The Lionville Community YMCA Summer Camp, Camp Leo, is held at Church Farm School, in Exton, Pennsylvania.
 

Responsibilities: 

• Ensures the safety and well-being of all campers in the group and camp-wide 

• Assists with the planning and implementation of activities in accordance with the camp schedule  

• Maintains positive relationships with campers, parents and staff 

• Organizes and maintains camp equipment, supplies and property 

• Actively participates in all aspects of the day camp schedule as assigned 

• Maintains camp records including, but not limited to: accident & incident reports, sign in/out sheets, attendance documents 

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor 
   

Qualifications: 

• Must be at least 16 years of age and/or have prior experience in working with children and/or successful completion of the YMCA CIT program and/or completion of child development classes offered in school 

• Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs 

• Attend all required pre-camp and camp season trainings and meetings as scheduled
