Overwhelmingly, people who decide they want to be a part of the Y in Central Maryland tell us they do so because it reflects their values and a conscious decision, they’ve made about how they choose to live their lives. The happiest and most fulfilled Y associates are those who are motivated to help others and who want to be a part of something larger than themselves.   If this speaks to your heart, then we invite you to join our team. Be a part of a charitable, mission-driven organization that works for individual and community well-being for all, for a better us.

How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:

As a Y Head Lifeguard, you will act as a swim supervisor and will be responsible for the safety, cleanliness, and operation of the Y swimming pool during operating hours. You will be supported in your work as a part of the leading mission-driven organization for strengthening community, and the area’s largest provider of swim lessons. You will be responsible for the safety of all swimmers and the chemical conditions in the pool. You will provide guidance to other guards and assist with guard scheduling as well as support the Swim Director or Swim Coordinator at your Y center. You will work to safeguard the health and safety of Y members, participants, and guests. As a Y Head Lifeguard, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the community by enhancing the well-being and safety of all.

This work is right for you if you have:
