Purpose:             
     

Trims, inspects, and takes quality samples of product.   
  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This position has significant environmental aspects/impacts associated with it:

Effluent Discharge, Boiler Air Emissions, Dust/Air Emissions, Waste Oils, and Hazardous Waste.

  • Employees in the position may be required to handle hazardous wastes. Annual Resource Conservation and Recovery Act training is required.
  • Employees in this position may be required to enter confined spaces. Confined Space Entry training is required every three years.
  • Work under guidance of team leader to ensure that material is of good quality and free from defects.
  • Produce and ship products and services as required and specified.
  • Cut samples to be used for quality checks.
  • Responsible for all equipment related to production of product in his/her area.
  • Help with machine operations and make minor adjustments when needed.
  • Maintain a clean working area.
  • Tag and report any quality defects such as sheet thickness and surface appearance to ensure quality material.
  • Perform repairs of press screens and press cleaning.
  • Work to acquire appropriate training (see training checklist for applicable Board Machine).
  • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety procedures.
  • Has the responsibility of understanding and carrying out assigned duties in conformance with customer and business requirements.  Only known good work is forwarded
  • Ensures that problems, errors and/or defects that surface in regard to products, documentation, procedures or materials are promptly brought to attention for correction.
  • Provides support and input for continual improvement projects, preventative and corrective actions.
  • Has the responsibility to halt or change a process if it is not achieving planned results.
  • Perform other work as assigned. 

Job Requirements:  

  • High School/Trade School Diploma required with a minimum of 2 years of equipment experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with painting, micrometer, forklift, razor knife, table saw, sample cutters, and other various hand tools (wrenches, etc.) is preferred.
  • Must be able to work at different heights.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements in accordance with the Essential Function Job Analysis.
