About the Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the transition of new statement of work into existing and/or new suppliers for Watlow.  You will be the focal for all interface with the supplier for development, deployment and facilitating the cross-functional team of resources to plan, organize and implement new statement of work.  You will assist the cross-functional teams to develop metrics for a smooth transition including ROI, Ramp Up/Down Plans, FAI’s and adherence to schedule including key milestones and deliverables.  You will be responsible for team member objectives, coaching and serve as a facilitator and problem-solver to enable the team to achieve successful project outcomes.  You will also be responsible for creating a project management framework and providing project updates including timeline, budget, and roadblocks to executive leadership.           


In the role of Project Manager, you will spend +75% on the road visiting the supply base or Watlow manufacturing facilities you will be supporting.


Your Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic transitions of new statement of work (make to buy, or buy to buy) i.e. manufacturing flow, quality constraints, cost down initiatives, etc.
  • Organize tasks and resources based upon estimates, costs, schedule and scope
  • Coordinate with strategic sourcing on estimates, RFQ’s, feasibility studies, etc. as required for the project
  • Coordinate with procurement team, including planning and purchasing to understand and align schedules to optimize shop flow
  • Guide team members in applying Agile and Lean Product Development methods
  • Facilitate use of Retrospectives and Team Health Monitor to build collaborative teams
  • Facilitate Lean Product Development planning sessions
  • Encourage project participants to own project results
  • Coordinate efforts of project with impacted parties (formally and informally) including customers, suppliers, business, technical, logistical, manufacturing and subcontractor representatives


Required Qualifications

  • Related work experience (5-8 years)
  • Experience in machine shops and manufacturing
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills


Desired Qualifications

  • Prefer Project Management experience; APICs Certified
  • Experience leading projects to successful completion in an Agile or Lean Product Development environment
  • Experience guiding technical teams
  • Expertise in Lean manufacturing
