Scope and Purpose of Position:

 

Delivers the highest standards of patient care by assisting the coordinator and the optometrist with the operation of the patient care and by performing the following duties:

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Completes training programs within established time periods
  • Communicates with patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Performs preliminary tests on patients prior to exam by optometrist
  • Performs all duties required in an accurate, efficient, professional, and confidential manner. Maintains high standards of clinical hygiene at all times.
  • Provides support to optometrist and office staff as directed, including processing referrals to specialists’ office, calling in medications and working with pharmacies to fill patient’s medications, and performs additional office duties as requested.
  • Follows rules and regulations regarding employment laws, office policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with HIPAA.
  • When needed, performs diagnostic testing, including visual fields, OCT, and retinal photos.
  • Performs trainings for patients and customers who wear contact lens
  • Performs hearing screenings when necessary
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned 

 

Education and Experience:

  • High Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of related medical experience preferred
  • CPO-A certification preferred
  • Ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amount

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, pick or pinch, and talk or hear most of the time.  The associate is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.   The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  The noise level in this location is moderate (use of computers, printers and machines). Ability and willingness to travel as required.

What are we looking for?

The wage range for applicants for this position is [$35,360 to $45,760].

All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
