Systems Engineer
 
 
Summary of Position: 
The Systems Engineer works as a member of the IT Infrastructure team. This remote role is tasked with keeping the existing infrastructure stable while helping to create an automated monitoring systems and administration tools. This is a remote role that works in EST, but can be based anywhere within the US.

Duties & Responsibilities:
•Work with the R&D team to scale existing product
•Automating VM and other service provisioning and other tasks in the cloud
•Setup auto-scaling for applications located in the cloud
•Building one-off processes to manage infrastructure and storage
•Building, debugging and fixing PowerShell scripts
•Monitoring automated backup and restore of cloud services
•Securing and hardening VMs and networks
•Establishing processes and write tools to automate processes
•Working with product owners, dev ops, and QA to create a continuous delivery process
•Creating relevant documentation to help capture decisions
•Optimize cost and consumption of resources
•Live by the standards set by the Verisma Core Values and ensure that business is transacted accurately and with the highest ethical standards
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
•Ability to lead peers by being opinionated but collaborative
•Strong problem-solving capabilities
•6+ years’ experience resolving tech issues independently
•Two to ten years’ experience within the system infrastructure space
•Experienced in Windows desktop and cloud management and monitoring, as well as scripting with PowerShell
•Prior network infrastructure experience
•Confidence in the ability to deploy and manage windows services, or web servers, updated database tables, and secure virtual machines
•The ability to migrate databases that have file pointers to the cloud, or how to scale a VM
•Strong grasp on the fundamentals of computer science with demonstrated experience with the application of those skills
•Proven track record of getting things done
•Impeccable organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and tackle multiple projects at a time
•A conscientious worker who loves to solve a good puzzle
•Self-starter and go-getter that takes pride in their work
•Flexible attitude to transition as priorities dictate
•A vision for building stable, reliable, and highly performing systems that create less work for everyone
•Entrepreneurial, proactive, can work without supervision
•Experience with client-side technologies as well as back-end server technologies
•Candidates with prior experience in the healthcare industry, preferred
•Strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with multiple departments
