Angel Tree Volunteer Coordinator - Fort Worth
Work directly with regional Volunteer Specialist to secure volunteers for the Angel Tree program needs. Help in the interviewing of clients and database entry. Responds to emails, phone calls keeping all necessary databases current and producing reports.

Communicates with and schedules volunteer staff ensuring adequate staff is maintained to meet program needs.
Follow up with groups to confirm their attendance and all the details of their volunteer event.
Ensures volunteers are welcomed, signed in, issued with necessary supplies, and given general orientation and training.
Orients volunteers to The Salvation Army volunteer services and functions. Conducts overview and task training.
Takes volunteers to job locations; introduces volunteers to lead staff for additional training.
Oversees all volunteers during their visit to the Christmas Center and make sure they are comfortable and productive in their tasks.
Serves as liaison to lead staff to learn of their volunteer needs and to discuss recruitment and scheduling issues.
Assists in identifying and recommending changes in assignment and/or termination of volunteer staff.
Produces, prints, copies, and mails follow-up letters, confirmation letters, and letters of appreciation; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
Prepares and maintains up-to-date records on all volunteers; prepares regular reports.
Other duties as assigned during the season.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D; some college.
one year experience recruiting people to perform work on a volunteer basis preferred,
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of The Salvation Army.
Knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices.
Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.
Ability to prepare accurate and complete records and reports.
Proficient in Word and Excel and familiar with database programs.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers.
Ability to lead, motivate, and evaluate the work of volunteers.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 75-80% of work time.
Work is performed in both a normal office environment and adjacent large warehouse facility.
