The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for an Audio Producer for the Southern Territory Headquarters, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Records, edits, mixes, encodes, and uploads content produced by The Salvation Army Soundcast and Communications Department (when applicable). Sets up recording sessions with appropriate equipment and collaborates with Multimedia Ministries Editor when filming takes place simultaneously. Assists Director of Production and Operations in creating compelling content in multiple languages that share the message and mission of The Salvation Army. Uses appropriate music, sound design, sound effects to create the most pleasing, modern, and professional sounding content possible. Acts as an expert in the field of audio engineering for the entire Communications team and assists other projects when available.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission, philosophy, culture, protocol, and organizational structure Knowledge of and sense of unity with Christian theology and The Salvation Army doctrine Knowledge of the principles and practices of modern audio programs, current recording and production techniques Knowledge of proper signal flow Skills in creativity with innate artistic talent Skill in auditory perception and comparative discernment of all types of sounds and recorded voice equalizations. Skills in audio production, mixing, engineering, auditory perception Skill in hearing and tonal recollection of musical selections. Ability to plan, direct and produce audio and productions Ability to evaluate the quality of spoken and musical performances and recordings Ability to research, utilize and teach the Biblical word Ability to plan and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines; must be able to adapt plans to changing needs and conditions, as well as special projects. Ability to be self-motivated and work unsupervised with a strong sense of responsibility; ability to provide input for and take instruction from supervisors. Ability to provide excellent public relations/ customer service Ability to meet attendance requirements Ability to read and write the English language
Education and Experience
Associates Degree in audio and/ or video production; Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, preferred And Four years’ experience in audio engineering, production, video and graphics creation, and experience directing and producing radio programs in the recording studio Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Licenses & Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Constant amount of physical effort required associated with hand movement, holding, finger dexterity, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, vision, hearing, talking and sitting at least 90% of the work time; rare to occasional amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching at least 30% of the work time. Occasional local and overnight travel required. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
