The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Sales & Events Assistant in the Hampton Roads Area Command Kroc Center.


Under the general direction of the Sales and Event Coordinator, the Events Assistant will assist with organizing and executing all events. He/she will read and execute Banquet Event Orders and act as a liaison between the Kroc Center and the client.


Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED


Valid State Driver’s License.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of The Salvation Army and its many programs.

Ability to organize and pay attention to details.

Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.

Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Ability to effectively utilize community resources.

Ability to be a team player, working collaboratively and proactively in a fast-paced setting.

Mental and Physical Abilities

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Ability to speak before large groups in person.

Duties are usually performed seated.
Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.


Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
