The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for a
Bailer/Warehouse Worker for the Service Center located in Douglas, GA.
Receives, sorts, and stores donated items in the Warehouse storage area; determines the acceptability of donated items based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to sort items in accordance with established categories; Ability to determine the condition of food items in accordance with established standards; Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or G.E.D., and one (1) year verifiable work experience in related field OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid State Driver’s License; Approved Salvation Army Driver’ Forklift Certification
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements; Ability to communicate the English language; Ability to physically lift and carry and /or push/pull heavy objects (50 – 100 Lbs). Moderate mobility; duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
