Housing Monitor Residential Services Johnson City, TN 

Job Summary:

Serves as housing monitor; accepts and processes residents staying in lodge/shelter overnight; receives and receipts fees received from residents, if applicable; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security, and compliance to house rules; maintain accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensure that lodge/shelter is maintained in neat and proper order. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of general office procedures and practices. Knowledge of basic recordkeeping practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with clients to control, lead, and motivate behaviorAbility to work with the public encompassing all types of behaviors. Ability to work independently with limited supervision while enforcing established policies and procedures.

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to respond to emergencies quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action. Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

No formal education or experience required.

Physical Requirements:

Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.

 

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
