The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Youth Development Professional (Teen Director) for the Bellwood Boys and Girls Club, located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Summary

Supervises & monitors the day-to-day activities of the Learning Center Program; maintains all Learning Center equipment and supplies; represents the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Atlanta in the community and builds a professional and positive image of The Salvation Army.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and practices of education and computers; Ability to plan, develop, facilitate, and supervise homework, basic skills in reading, writing, and basic computer knowledge activities; Ability to build and maintain effective mentor relationships with youth; Ability to recruit, train and supervise volunteers; Ability to ensure the safety of youth participants; Ability to promote the Club and recruit youth participation; Ability to be organized, responsible and creative; Ability to be a results-oriented performer; Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred, And One (1) year of experience working with youth development programs, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications
Valid State Driver’s License & C.P.R. and First Aid Certification

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements; Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Work is performed in a normal indoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
