General Summary Statement

 

The position assists Process Engineering personnel in various tasks within the scope of the position to enable TriMark to remain competitive and effective in production, efficient in its operational practices.  Tasks related to the position include but are not limited to production support of the chrome and zinc plating processes and various clerical duties.

 

To perform effectively, the incumbent shall have a comprehensive knowledge of plating practices and shall possess or obtain a Certified Electroplater-Finisher (C.E.F.) certification.

 

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

 

  1. Completes Certified Electroplater-Finisher (C.E.F.) certification in order to effectively incorporate into the position the broad range knowledge and information related to fundamentals of electroplating, methods of preparing parts for surface finishing and to understand wide variety of electroplating and other finishing processes.

 

  1. The position will provide technical support to the plating departments.

 

  1. Provide support to wastewater treatment system and personnel as necessary.

 

  1. Work in conjunction with and/or take direction from Process Engineers to complete work assignments in an accurate and efficient manner.

 

  1. In the case of adding new parts and equipment to the plating department, the incumbent studies the existing operation and then determines how to accommodate new parts/racks/equipment and still maintain a smooth flow of materials. 

 

  1. The position is responsible for the analysis and testing of various electroplating solutions and/or other chemistries used in the production facility.  The Manufacturing Lab Technician will ensure makeup of baths is correct and will also determine chemical additions or changes.

 

  1. Understand process control and the importance of maintaining scheduled tasks and data input.

 

  1. The incumbent will be responsible to monitor and sustain yield and throughput in regards to order demand and quality specifications.

 

  1. Utilize Microsoft applications per company availability to create reports, spreadsheets, purchasing documents, meeting plans, personal and assigned tasks, and email communication.

 

  1. Perform simple to complex internet resource searches for component sources, component specifications, costs.

 

  1. Assist the production areas with training and provide solutions to intermittent production problems.

 

  1. Incumbent must become familiar with Microsoft Office Applications, JD Edwards business system, TrueChem and various software packages utilized by TriMark Corporation.

 

  1. The incumbent will utilize the tools within TriMark’s Continuous Improvement program to help reduce variation and waste within manufacturing processes.

 

  1. The position is responsible to ensure the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System which includes but not limited to significant environmental aspects, compliance obligations and environmental risks.

 

  1. This position supports the continual improvement and compliance of QMS.

 

  1. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition using 5S principles to minimize safety hazards and lost-time accidents.

 

  1. Must be available to work overtime and weekends as required to meet the company’s business demands.

 

  1. Perform related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

 

The office area is air-conditioned and working conditions are excellent.   Some VDT work contributes to normal eyestrain.  Normal or corrected vision with no color deficiency, normal depth perception and peripheral vision of 80 degrees is required.  Safety glasses and safety shoes are required whenever office personnel are in the plant production area.  The noise level is 50-80 dB.  Hearing protection is not required but is encouraged for use by office personnel when visiting high-noise areas of the plant.
