Summary/Objective

The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures.

•Post cash receipts, checks and credit card transactions for customers.

•Processes Intercompany transactions at month end.

•Processes write offs at month end approved by managers

•Processes approved credits on customer accounts

•Operates office equipment including personal computer, copiers, fax machines and 10-key calculator.

•Reads, uses and is familiar with computer systems manuals and procedures, maintains and updates procedural manuals as needed.

•Maintains systematic, accurate, and timely processing of all accounts receivable including, but not limited to, posting payments, processing write offs, I/C transactions.

Food Safety Responsibilities

•Works with Quality Assurance Team to ensure specific Good Manufacturing Practices are being followed.

•Employee shall adhere to all company food safety policies, procedures, and trainings.




Required, Education and Experience:

Education

•High School Diploma or GED required.

•Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.


Experience

•2+ years’ experience in accounting.

•Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Language Skills:

Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (Preferred):

Servsafe certification is desirable.

HACCP certification preferred.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

The employee must work 40 hours per week Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Travel

No travel is expected for this position.
