The Cashier will use cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers.


1.Greet customers as they enter the location

2.Accept money in the form of cash, checks, and credit or debit cards for items purchased; validates checks

3.Assist customers with questions or price discrepancies

4.Ensure accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of shift

5.Identify prices of products and services and tabulates bills with available equipment

6.Bag, box, or wrap purchased items if applicable

7.Perform other related duties as assigned


•Excellent customer service skills

•Good verbal communication skills

•Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners

•Basic mathematical skills to make change accurately and quickly

•Knowledgeable about services, and customer-related policies

Required Education and Experience

•High school diploma or equivalent preferred

•Successful completion of on-the-job training

Work Environment

•Frequent standing, walking and balancing

•Vision – close, peripheral, depth, distance, focus adjustment required frequently

•Hands/Fingers – frequent typing and use of fine motor skills

•Occasional bending forward and trunk rotation while standing

•Occasional squatting, pushing and pulling

•Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 15 lbs.
