The Credit Manager is responsible for reviewing credit applications, references, Dun & Bradstreet credit reports, financial statements, and then establishing credit for the new accounts and setting appropriate credit limits and terms based on the findings. The collection of accounts as well as releasing accounts from credit hold are performed daily by the Credit Manager. Reviewing accuracy and processing of debits and credits. Month-end closing of Accounts Receivable. The Credit Manager serves as the back-up for the daily cash reporting.


Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Evaluating credit risk and extending appropriate credit limits and terms of payment accordingly.
  • Reviewing and proactively collecting on accounts over 90 days old on at least a weekly basis and communicating with these customers on a regular basis. 
  • Making collection calls/emails across the rest of the A/R base on a daily basis.
  • Running the Credit Hold Report several times a day from Oracle and release orders at that time and as individual requests are sent.  Review email notifications of orders that go back on hold throughout the day.
  • Send morning email that lists orders that have been released and lists customers who are on credit hold.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of information inputted on orders prior to releasing.
  • Continuous improvement of the credit hold process to reduce response time and streamline the process, including communications to the field.    
  • Determines when the use of additional risk avoidance tools such as payment & performance bonds, joint checks, owner direct purchases, letters of credit, and international receivable insurances are warranted.
  • File to protect lien rights through NCS, and maintain all filings in accordance to due dates by state.  
  • Works with collection agency to manage accounts that have been turned over for collection.
  • Review customer accounts for accuracy and adjust accounts as necessary (e.g. ensure AP email address, company address, and contacts are up-to-date).
  • Review need to file notice to owners and file accordingly. 
  • Prepare/witness/notarize lien releases for contractors, when Credit Analyst is unavailable.
  • Review accounts to determine if all invoices related to specific jobs have been paid, and if so, release the warranty back to FTR Warranty Services to be issued.
  • Work with attorneys with regard to bankruptcies and other legal collection matters.
  • Process Debits & Credits prepared and entered by Customer Service.
  • Review online banking daily to look for incoming wires that need to be posted to customer accounts. 
  • Close Oracle A/R module at month-end and prepare monthly journal entries related to A/R, Returns & Allowances, and the Bad Debt Reserve.
  • Send electronic customer statements on the first day of the month.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations in Adra.
  • Prepare monthly cash forecast.
  • Run AR Debits & Credits monthly report – amend and prepare accordingly for Credit Analyst.
  • Prepare monthly DSO analyses.
  • Prepare year-end audit schedules and reconciliations as needed.
  • Travel to largest and most challenging customers with Sales Representatives.  At least one trip annually for IF and FTR.
  • Attend critical shows such as IAFI to give face to face access to IF customers.



This position requires:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting with five plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  International credit experience is needed.
