We are looking for individuals to efficiently operator knitting and weaving machines. Must be flexible to work 12-hour night shift, 2/2/3 schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote safety and safety awareness at all times.
- Operates and continuously monitors a variety of different machines which have different operating procedures and setups. Responsible to see machines are running efficiently to produce clean, good quality fabric.
- Observe cloth being woven or knitted on multiple machines to detect visible defects. Initiate corrective action as necessary to eliminate fabric that is not suitable for processing.
- Troubleshoot problems with setup, machines and component systems by visual observation, responding to fault lights and reading error codes displayed on terminals. Alerting Technician & Supervisor when machine or equipment malfunctions occur.
- Use forklifts and hand trucks to move pallets of fill yarn and warp/stitch beams and overhead cranes to move stitch beams and rolls into the correct position for machine setup and production.
- Complete paperwork for doffed rolls, including printing and placing inventory ticket on greige goods roll.
- Meet with prior shift Operator at each shift change to review and discuss any equipment and process issues.
- Performs daily housekeeping in work areas to remove yarn, threads, fuzz, debris and trash from catwalks, under and around machines and other floor surfaces using brooms
- Promote Lean Sigma Initiative by actively participating in Kaizen events and ensure 5S is completed according to schedule, keeping Weaving and Yarn Storage areas clean and organized.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
HS Diploma/GED required
Previous textile experience helpful, but will train
Some computer skills preferred
All candidates must successfully complete the following:

Work Environment:
- Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes and forklifts moving heavy beams, yarn packages and rolls of woven or knitted cloth.
- Occasionally exposed to work in high precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally use forklift or overhead cranes to move beams, yarn packages and rolls of cloth, ranging from 1,250 to 3,000 lbs.
- Must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight). Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; to climb or balance and stoop or kneel. Occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision
