Under the direction of the Director, Production you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless operations, and guiding continuous improvement initiatives. You will oversee all aspects of production, from planning and scheduling to execution and delivery.  You will be given the opportunity to develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, monitor production metrics and KPI’s to track performance and identify areas of improvement.  You will also be responsible for hiring, training and developing direct reports through coaching and engagement to meet labour capacity requirements.

What the job is all about:

  • A production manager is responsible for ensuring that the production of manufacturing products starts and finishes within budget and on time delivery
  • Work with Production Planning to communicate and discuss events that are above and beyond the daily workload
  • The production manager ensures all products meet the required quality standards working with Manufacturing Support to meet our code of ethics – “We Will not Ship Crap”
  • Working with many stakeholders within the business: HR, Training
  • Distribute necessary reports on a timely basis, reflecting quality and throughput metrics
  • Work with supervisors, providing them the knowledge and direction to support their teams and business goals
  • Strategically approach process and procedures; working with manufacturing support teams to create efficiency or optimization within the work area
  • Promote career development by ensuring one-on-one meets happen in conjunction with yearly reviews.
  • Address performance issues in a timely manner
  • Participates in and approves any compensation cycle changes.
  • Ensure compliance within all Ross policies, particularly safety standards and policies
  • Ensure the department follows the Ross Code of Ethics
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Who you are:

  • Post-secondary degree or appropriate experience
  • Demonstrated management experience required 5-10 years
  • Outstanding communication ability and leadership skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of MAX and/or similar MRP/ERP program
  • Working knowledge of Aegis – MES and/or similar manufacturing execution programs
  • Experienced in technical manufacturing operations in a high mix, low volume environment
