The Business Coordinator is a key role in the Ross Video, Vertical Market- Sports & Live Events (SLE) team. The play an active role in achieving sales and gross profit goals for the SLE Vertical Market by developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with customers, consultants, and partners, primarily through the RFP response process.

 

The Business Coordinator works in close partnership with their sales and business development counterparts and should drive results in RFP response coordination for large, specialized projects, customer retention, and new leads/opportunities. This individual must have excellent skills at developing relationships which will allow them to understand the objectives of the customer and be extremely detail oriented as they help manage all tasks, schedules and details associated with putting together a proposal.

 

Other responsibilities include developing warranty & maintenance contracts to help promote customer retention, updating Salesforce.com with essential metrics, and coordinating general opportunity responses with the SLE team. As such, the Business Coordinator needs to understand the sports broadcast, professional sports, collegiate sports, and the emerging esports landscape at a global level.

What the job is all about:

  • Assist with day-to-day activities to support the Sports & Live Event sales efforts globally, including preparing quotes and providing guidance to re-sellers, system integrators and clients to facilitate the purchase of Ross solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with the regionally based Sales Managers and Inside Sales representatives to determine and implement the best solution for the customer
  • Assist consultants with updated RFP/Tender specification data.
  • Coordinate RFP/Tender responses through collaboration with Solution Architect(s).
  • Ensure customer order flow by following the clean order criteria.
  • Maintain accurate customer data within the corporate CRM solution (Salesforce.com).
  • Ensure follow-through of opportunities by completing requests, documenting activity within Salesforce.com and setting reminders for next steps.
  • Assist in coordination and liaison between the Sports & Live Events department and other internal business units.
  • Assist in resolution of customer enquiries regarding equipment, supplies, and service.
  • Review articles in trade publications to keep abreast of the latest developments in the Sports & Live Event production market.
  • When necessary, travel to sync up with respective Regional Sales Manager or other members of the Sales Team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Position is based in Ross’ Ottawa office; remote or hybrid work will be considered.
  • Ability to occasionally travel and attend sales events or exhibitions.

 

Who you are:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in related discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years’ work experience within a sales position.
  • Demonstrated experience in RFP/Tender response, opportunity qualification, account development, and time management.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals to exceed sales targets.
  • Experience in sales forecasting & pipeline management.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software such as Salesforce.com is an asset.
  • Practical knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with the key components used in broadcast video production applications is an asset.
  • Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Strong team player.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
  • General interest and knowledge of global sport/esport leagues.   
  • Ability to schedule duties/projects (multi-task).
  • Ability to work unsupervised, attention to detail and an evident work ethic.
  • Ability to thrive in stressful situations.
  • Fluent English.
