Purpose

The General Laborer is responsible for maintaining a clean working environment for all staff and visitors, ensuring all areas are safe.

 

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.   

                

  1. General Policy
  1. Ensure spaces are maintained and cleaned by emptying trash and recycle bins, tidying furniture, dusting surfaces, and picking up debris and trash on facility grounds.
  2. Operate floor scrubber, sweep and mop floors.
  3. Remove extraneous dirt/markings from interior and exterior vertical/horizontal surfaces (walls, doors, etc.).
  4. Maintain working conditions of cleaning equipment.
  5. Adhere to safety measures for cleaning, lifting, moving, and operating equipment.
  6. Maintain a clean work space.
  7. Maintain a safe working environment; Observe all OSHA and Company safety policies.
  8. Generate and identify Stop Stories.
  9. Assist other departments as assigned.
  10. Uphold the Ravago Code of Conduct standards.
  11. Other duties as assigned by Maintenance and Department Manager.

 

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

  1. Education:
  1. Minimum of GED preferred or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  1. Experience:
  1. Ability to maintain machinery necessary to perform a specialized task.
  2. Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  3. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

 

Competencies; Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA)

To perform this role successfully, an individual must have experience achieving desired result(s) in their areas of responsibility. The requirements listed below are representative of observable behaviors and essential knowledge, skill, and abilities required of a successful incumbent within our culture.           

  1. Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
  2. Must be comfortable working in a non-climate controlled environment.
  3. Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
  4. All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.

  1. Ability to sit, walk, climb and kneel for extended periods of time.

  5. Must have color vision.
