Summary of Position:


Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the HR Manager will lead the strategic business function that focuses on our associates’ experience by humanizing impersonal processes and systems and continuously improving associate engagement, development, and retention through the organization.
 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provide support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Design and deliver succession planning programs in collaboration with business leaders, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for critical roles.
  • Analyze trends in our dashboards and people insights; research and propose programs to ensure the organization remains competitive to attract and retain top talent.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for associates.
  • Oversee associate disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Manage a small team and oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Handle discipline and termination of associates in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • HR certifications (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) highly desired.
  • 5+ years of human resource management experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and multi-state employment related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with technology equipment and systems including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience directly managing three or more individuals is required.
  • Prior HRIS and talent management system experience and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the HR Manager to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
