Summary of Position:
 

The Payroll Specialist will work under the general direction of the Total Rewards Manager and is responsible for partnering with our outside service provider and coordinating payroll processing company wide. This role also supports Associates with payroll inquiries, issues, and concerns.
 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates payroll processing with an outside service provider.
  • Responds to and resolves inquiries regarding paychecks and payroll reporting; Ensures payroll issues and concerns are escalated and resolved promptly.
  • This role provides exceptional customer service for our Associates by addressing payroll inquiries, issues, and concerns.
  • Accurately administrates the payroll systems, including documentation, distribution and reconciliation.
  • Reviews the computation of pay and deductions for accuracy.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of city, state, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable requirements.
  • Prepares required tax filings and other payroll and payroll tax related reporting.
  • Works on special projects as assigned and cross trains as necessary.

General Overview of Compensation & Benefits:


  • The median base compensation for this position is estimated to be $28.00 [per hour], subject to adjustment based on business-related factors including employee qualifications and operational considerations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or Business-related discipline preferred.
  • Requires 2 years of related Payroll experience, with hands-on experience to full-cycle, multi-state payroll administration.
  • Experience with different HR Information Systems, ADP or Ceridian preferred.
  • General knowledge of federal and state labor laws including EEO, ADA, FMLA, LOA, etc.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality (i.e. compensation, performance reviews, counseling notices, promotions, etc.).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle fast-paced work environment.
  • Team player with strong work ethic.
  • Interacts well with co-workers, executives, vendors, and other business contacts.

Physical Requirements:
 

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the Payroll Specialist to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
