Job Summary Project HOME's Development and Events Specialist is a two-year position that manages the planning, fundraising and event logistics and sponsorships for Project HOME’s 35th anniversary gala taking place in 2024. Attendance is 1,000+ with a fundraising goal of $5M.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·  35th Anniversary Gala

§  Event Sponsorships

o   Drafts, tracks, and manages all event sponsor solicitations

o   Arranges major donor sponsor solicitation visits

o   Manages sponsor stewardship and benefits

§  Event Logistics

o   Support the planning and execution of event logistics including:  budget, venue, working with all vendors (decor, graphic designers, a/v, give-away, printing, invitations)

o   Manage Invitations – save the date and event (including management of sponsorship lists and RSVPs)

o   Support the VP of Development in managing the event committee and meetings prior to the Gala

o   Manage planning and execution of resident/staff 35th Anniversary Gala

o   Manage logistics for 35th Anniversary Gala choir

o   Manage event volunteers

o   Manage all print materials (invitations, Save the Date, program book)

o   Schedule all committee and volunteer meetings

 

§ Fulfills other responsibilities as necessary


Minimum Qualifications

§  A minimum of four years of event planning experience

§  Experience raising gifts over $10,000

§  Experience in preparing and understanding grant budgets and other financial documents

§  Experience working with a variety of vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing deliverables.

§  Excellent writing and analytical skills

§  Ability to work independently and as part of a team

§  Strong computer skills (experience w/Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. CRM software knowledge a plus)

§  Ability to successfully manage several tasks simultaneously; superior organizational skills

§  Ability to maintain ongoing collaborative relationships with foundations, corporation, government contacts, and peers

§  Valid driver’s license

§  Strong attention to detail

§  Ability to lift up to 30lbs

§  Ability to stand for long periods of time
