Recruiter/Onboarding Specialist 


Responsible for building an ongoing candidate pipeline by utilizing creative sourcing strategies. Maintaining online databases, social media sites, job boards, contact lists and employee referrals. Manage the full life cycle of the recruitment process. Participate in workforce planning sessions with hiring managers and Manager of Talent Management. Recruit, screen, and interview internal and external applicants. Provide guidance to the organization in respect of filling vacancies and improving the recruitment process. Develop professional network with diverse professional organizations, educational institutions and government sponsored groups for the successful achievement of organizational recruitment goals.


  •       Leads the recruitment process from role review to onboarding. Collaborates with hiring managers to define and determine the recruitment strategy and evaluation of applicants. Leads a detailed job scope meeting to determine position specifications, providing relevant wage data, and recommendations on recruitment strategies. Posts jobs, sources, interviews, and evaluates candidates, partners with Talent Manager to determine offer details, presents job offers, and leads negotiations ensuring offers fit within the organization's compensation philosophy and practices.
  •      Trains and coaches managers on the talent acquisition function and processes; including but not limited to utilizing the applicant tracking system, candidate screening and selection, unconscious bias in recruitment, and job description creation and management.    
  •       Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with federal/state laws and regulations during the hiring process.
  •       Partners with managers to define, create, or review job descriptions for new recruitment requests, including wage benchmarking within the parameters of the organization's compensation philosophy and practices.
  •       Keeps applicants engaged throughout the recruitment process, ensuring consistent communication.
  •       Coordinates the pre-employment contingency process and initial new hire onboarding process.
  •       Develops relationships with professional networking sites, workforce development organizations, and college/university placement offices. Works closely with Communications on social media advertising. Uses traditional and non-traditional resources, such as career fairs, community network events, job boards, etc. to identify and attract quality applicants.
  •       Ensures adherence and compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) relative to the recruitment function. Generates reports for annual Affirmative Action Plan, monitors for AAP compliance within talent acquisition, and recommends talent acquisition initiatives to support diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  •       Optimizes the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to best support the talent acquisition process and hiring manager needs, while also seeking out opportunities to create efficiencies and improve systems for the current and future talent demands.
  •       Researches, analyzes, prepares, and presents hiring analytics. Leverages talent acquisition data to inform decisions on recruitment strategies and recommend changes to the talent acquisition process.
  •       Conduct new hire orientation
  •       All other duties as assigned.


  •       Bachelors Degree or educational equivalent.
  •       5 years HR recruiting of salary level jobs experience.
  •       Comprehensive knowledge of recruitment practices and strategies.
  •       Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources as applied to talent selection and onboarding.
  •       Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully interact with all levels of the organization.
  •       Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  •       Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  •       Ability to work in a team environment.
  •       Experience working with an ATS system preferred.

Demonstrated Abilities:

  •       Knowledge and understanding of human resources policies/procedures and federal/state/local laws regarding employment practices.
  •       Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  •       Ability to sell the employer brand and articulate the value proposition of the job opportunity.
