Product Developer, Metallurgical Innovation


With direction, perform Research and Development related activities on all products and services which encompass the Prince Metallurgical Division. These activities include, but are not limited to the following: Administer all R&D related procedures and documents; assist in developing new competitive products as well as fine-tune existing products; continually search for alternative, cost-effective raw materials as well as investigate novel raw materials for innovative product development; Perform quality control of finished products as well as incoming raw materials; perform technical service at customers’ facilities; attend classes/training seminars for continuous improvement; attend/participate in trade shows; maintain a clean laboratory environment

Position Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve product performance and develop next-generation materials for the metallurgical product lines under direction
  • Assists in proper investigation and root cause analysis for incidents/accidents occurring in the laboratory, as part of internal operations, and at customer facilities
  • Search for cost-efficient raw material alternatives
  • Communicate on a technical/professional level with internal and external customers
  • Technical support for customers, sales team, and distributors
  • Assist in establishing QC specifications on all newly developed products
  • Keep records of development activities, product performance, and formulations
  • Perform quality control activities as required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field from a four-year college or university; preferably Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgy/Metallurgical Engineering, Metal Processing, or similar major.
  • Previous relevant industrial experience (including internships) essential, 1+ year industrial experience desired
