About the Role:

Parker Poe is seeking a construction litigation attorney with 4 to 8 years of experience to join its growing Construction, Development & Condemnation Practice Group in Charleston, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will have experience representing developers, homebuilders, or contractors and managing complex litigation matters. The position involves working in an active and dynamic practice that touches all aspects of litigation including discovery, depositions, motions practice, and trial. The applicant must possess exceptional communication skills, research and writing skills, and be ready and willing to handle matters both independently and as part of a litigation team. Candidates must be currently licensed in South Carolina.

About the Practice:

We serve a diverse group of clients representing all participants in the construction field, including owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, architects, engineers, construction managers and surety/fidelity companies.

We provide consultation and assistance in the negotiation, preparation and review of construction contracts, contracts for architectural or engineering services, and contracts for material supplied on credit. Many common problems can be avoided at the contract negotiation stage with careful attention to the details of the agreement, clarification of the parties' responsibilities and identification of potential or recurring trouble spots.

We also coordinate the legal aspects of commercial and industrial development projects throughout the Southeast and internationally. Our services include preparing plant supply contracts and related documentation, such as project finance agreements, labor and supply contracts, construction and design contracts, and finished product, barter and countertrade arrangements.
