As MEP Quality Manager, you are responsible to work with multiple project teams to provide knowledge and expertise of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection (MEP-FP), low voltage, alarm systems, and BAS, relative to the design, value engineering, installation, coordination, start-up, commissioning, training and warranty of these systems.   




  • Establish and implement quality practices as it relates to MEP-FP systems on projects
  • Establish commissioning best practices, procedures, and processes for projects
  • Perform design reviews of MEP-FP systems on multiple construction markets including healthcare, higher ed, industrial, manufacturing, retail, life sciences, and K-12
  • Review MEP submittals
  • Work closely with MEP designers and trade partners on the jobsite
  • Review/Audit MEP system installations for conformity with the project documents, coordinated BIM models, industry, and code requirements
  • Prepare commissioning plans and reports
  • Oversee and audit the MEP inspection and test plans
  • Oversee the startup, commissioning, and owner training for major equipment
  • Attend relevant national conferences and earn credentials
  • Lead the troubleshooting of MEP issues
  • Work with the project team to prepare preliminary schedules, site logistic plans and budgets as needed
  • Interface with Owner, Architect and Engineers as needed
  • Work with project team to compile qualified subcontractor lists
  • Perform pre-installation meetings
  • Work with MEP Coordinator to review and validate coordinated BIM models
  • Assist in the process of supplementing project BIM models with pertinent facilities management and commissioning information for client turnover



  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years hands-on MEP experience in the construction industry
  • Working knowledge of MEP systems and the commissioning process
  • Experience working with or designing chilled water plants, heating hot water plants, HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, automation systems, lighting, normal power, emergency power, fire alarm and data/communication systems
  • Engineer in Training (i.e., passed FE exam), preferred
  • Certified Commissioning Professional or other commissioning certifications (NEBB, BCA, or AABC certifications), LEED accreditation, and Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration, preferred



  • Aptness to manage multiple jobs concurrently
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, in order to interact well with all levels of the organization from leadership to trades
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work equally well both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Familiar with relevant technology and software
