This is a full time year round position responsible for multiple shop locations, game attractions, and upwards of 50 seasonal team members to coach/mentor and train.

Summary

The Retail Manager provides guidance for all aspects of the Retail & Games department at Story Land and Living Shores.  This includes overseeing activities & events along with programs associated with the facility in accordance with company policies, procedures, and business practices.  Leading a seasonal team of 20+ team members through coaching and mentoring as well; holding Support Staff accountable for achieving their KPI goals.  This position is the primary person responsible for purchasing and managing merchandise inventory, making operational decisions while reporting to the Director of In-Park Revenue.

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Oversee the purchase and receiving process, and product flow through the warehouse, including purchase orders, ticketing, counts, store movement and replenishment

·         Execute audits and physical inventories for the facility, along with monitor and analyze results

·         Work with vendors to create and approve custom artwork and products, analyze sales and inventory reports to make informed, data-based buying decisions

·         Facilitate physical inventory process of retail merchandise

·         Attend trade shows to source and purchase retail merchandise, as well as negotiate pricing and freight opportunities

·         Ensure that all retail locations are fully stocked and operated in an efficient manner

·         Coordinate and participate in the hiring, training, scheduling and coaching activities for the Retail team

·         Ensure that all team members are following proper cash handling procedures

·         Carry out administrative functions along with participating in the MOD program, attending Safety Committee meetings and adhering to company policies as well as local, state, and federal guidelines

·         Encourage high standards of wardrobe and personal appearance as mentioned in Team Member Handbook

 

 

Requirements

·         18 years of age or older

·         Have reliable transportation to and from work

·         Be able to read, write, speak, hear, and understand English

·         Associate’s degree preferably in business management, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a related role minimum of four (4) years of Retail supervisory and/or Retail Management experience

·         Proficiency using Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

·         Critical thinking and analytical skills to process data and make next-step recommendations

·         Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems

Working Conditions:

·         Physical requirements include the ability to sit, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs., unload or rearrange stock boxes, and use common office equipment such as computers,  golf cart, ladder, radio, ect

·         Indoor office setting, with outdoors travel in a variety of weather conditions especially when the amusement park is operational to check in with team members. Seasonal game Attendants work outside.

·         May be requested to operate various vehicles, including trucks, golf carts, forklifts, etc.

·         Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
