Palace Entertainment, one of America’s largest leisure operators, seeks a Group Sales Manager for its Pittsburgh Hub, including Kennywood, Sandcastle, plus Idlewild & SoakZone.


The ideal candidate is a highly organized, customer service orientated strategic thinker that is tech savvy with excellent writing and speaking skills. Working on growing sales, numerous projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and handling pressure on a daily basis.   

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Driving new group business and maintaining existing group business to meet and achieve yearly sales and attendance goals
  • Lead the group sales team in developing a pipeline of new business through prospecting, cold calling and other tactics
  • Promote and sell all aspects of group sales which includes non-catered groups, catered groups, online consignment, hard ticket consignment, and specialty groups
  • Ensure parks are maintaining their sales databases by implementing tactics and best practices to create repeat customers year over year
  • Track and analyze sales data to identify trends and sales patterns within each park
  • Use data and learnings to make decisions and adjust sales goals and plans as needed
  • Audit competitors regularly to ensure pricing and strategies allow for the parks to remain competitive in their respective markets
  • Managing a group of sales representatives at all three Pittsburgh parks and traveling among the parks for key sales events
  • Develop internal relationships within each park with regard to marketing, operations and management teams in order to ensure the success of group sales and events
  • Work with park and teams to create and execute yearly sales plans and goals
  • Work alongside marketing teams to coordinate and execute integrated sales campaigns
  • Create content for sales flyers and promotions, website information, and mailings with regard to offerings and pricing each season, including email campaigns via Salesforce
  • Reporting to Hub Regional Director on a consistent basis with sales in each channel segment
  • Professionally represent and market the facility at industry meetings, tradeshows and off-site events



  • Communication – Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including customer service skills; ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively with a wide range of diverse populations. Represent the Company well internally and externally and convey a professional and positive image of the organization and business affiliates
  • Leadership – Sales Strategist with the ability to lead a regional team in attracting new sales groups and maintaining current groups
  • Problem Solving/Analysis:  Define problems, research and collect data, draw valid conclusions and execute remedial strategies in a timely manner
  • Flexibility – Handle multiple priorities simultaneously; maintain a flexible work schedule to meet changing demands for multiple concurrent projects, and ability to adapt to changing events and strategies in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Computer Proficiency – MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Powerpoint), Experience with Salesforce CRM


Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales and/or Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related fields. Equivalent experience will be considered
  • Flexible schedule - must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays during the operating season
  • 3-6 years of related experience required. Experience in the entertainment or amusement and attractions industry a plus, but not required
