Location: Remote

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

 

Employment Logistics: 

 

As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a dynamic team of software developers, contract developers, vendors, and professional service providers. Your primary focus will be to drive the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions by providing strategic leadership, managing resources, and fostering a collaborative and innovative development environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational objectives.

The Must-Haves: 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 

  • 6-10 years of experience in related field

  • Must have experience with full stack development, C#, .Net, PHP, Java Script

  • Up to 10% Travel

  • Lead, mentor, and manage teams of software developers, vendors, and professional service providers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. 

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning by providing guidance on technical challenges and career development for team members. 

  • Oversee the entire software development life cycle, from planning and design to implementation and testing. 

  • Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. 

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. 

  • Develop and execute the software development strategy in alignment with organizational goals. 

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define technology roadmaps and long-term development plans. 

  • Drive innovation within the team, exploring new technologies and methodologies. 

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to the development team. 

  • Collaborate with architects and senior developers to design scalable and robust software solutions. 

  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and industry standards. 

  • Strategically optimize resource allocation to meet project demands and timelines, including identifying staffing needs, actively participating in recruitment efforts, and fostering team building initiatives 

  • Manage and monitor team performance, providing the members with feedback and conducting performance reviews. 

  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the development team(s). 

  • Establish and uphold robust unit testing processes to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality software. 

  • Foster collaboration with quality assurance teams to promptly identify and address any issues.

  • Work with and manage SaaS, vendor, and professional service providers. 

  • Oversee the onboarding process for new team members, providing comprehensive training and mentorship 

  • Work within the Scrum Agile framework. 

  • Foster productive collaboration and communication channels with cross-functional teams, 

  • Work effectively within a DevOps environment. 

  • Continuously research industry trends and emerging technologies to identify and implement best practices in software development methodologies, tools, and processes. 

  • Software development, as needed and on a limited basis.
