Job Title:                  Parts Room Specialist

Reporting To:             MRO Manager 

Location:                  Ochlocknee, GA

 

 

Job Summary

 

To manage, control, and account for all Maintenance, Repair, and Operational (MRO) material from the time it is received in the parts room until it’s issued out to plant personnel.   Maintains proper inventory levels, maintains all transaction records, and performs periodic inventory cycle count checks to ensure accuracy. Receives all incoming parts room materials and puts material away in the proper location.

 

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Embraces the company culture, leads by example, and provides customer service levels that meet or exceed their customers’ expectations.
  • Responsible for perpetual inventory balance accuracy of MRO spare parts in accordance with agreed-upon levels in the parts room, with a focus on optimizing inventory levels whenever possible while ensuring continuity of supply.
  • Monitor, report and improve upon key performance indicators (KPI’s) for inventory levels and accuracy – submit monthly inventory report, (with action(s) taken) to Manager in a mutually agreed upon format.
  • Follow policies and procedures to ensure that inventory transactions are recorded on a timely and accurate basis. Transactions include receipts, transfers in/out, damages, missing inventory, etc.
  • Perform all necessary inventory balance verification, including cycle counting and location designation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized parts room with clearly marked bins, material that is properly stored, and aisles that are cleared of materials and/or debris.
  • Control damage and obsolescence by monitoring bin traffic and material usage.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in an inventory/capital-intensive type environment, preferably in maintenance, (or other technical function) in a manufacturing facility.
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Proactive individual who can multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical aptitude or willingness to learn technical applications.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A helpful ‘Customer Service’ mindset.
  • Organizational skills and detail-orientated.

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Will frequently sit.
  • Will occasionally stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach turn, twist, push and pull.
