The focus of this specialized, technically oriented position is on meeting and exceeding high standards of accuracy and quality based on established systems, technologies and guidelines. Strength in technical problem solving based on expertise and experience, and a strong commitment to efficiently achieve high quality results is required. A thoughtful, persevering, self-disciplined approach to achieving accurate, detailed work is essential. Job responsibilities and expectations are clearly defined, as is the scope of job authority. Expertise and competency is developed through a systematic technical training program, as well as an ongoing exposure to and training in new technical systems once they have been adopted and well tested. A key aspect of the job includes the ongoing identification of technical problems and the development of sound, carefully thought-out solutions. In general, this is a valued expert expected to deliver high quality, accurate results, while efficiently maintaining and enhancing existing organizational systems and standards.

As a Commercial and Specialty Banking Analyst Il, you will assist with the success and growth of relationships with existing customers and through the acquisition of new customers, underwrite loan presentations ensuring the overall success and growth of an assigned portfolio, including originations, annual reviews, amendments, risk rating assessments, financial spreads, financial modeling, among other duties. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including preparing financial models for use in underwriting, supporting the management of profitable client relationships and work with other areas in the Bank including Credit, Loan Operations and Executive Management, and understanding and critically analyzing borrower financial statements using accounting and finance skills on a daily basis.Additionally, Commercial and Specialty Banking Analyst Ils are expected to assist relationship managers with management of an existing portfolio of clients and monitor client relationship for compliance with credit standards through monthly portfolio monitoring, maintain a very high level of credit quality within the portfolio, participate in community and business functions to ensure a positive image for the bank within the regions marketplace, build a great rapport with clients and fellow associates, and treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.

All associates are expected to maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.

Minimum Requirements: To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong business writing skills.
  • Self-starter personality with a passion to pursue further endeavors in the finance field.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications: To be considered an ideal candidate, you should possess some of the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance and/or certification in the field.
  • Experience in a specialized segment of financial services. (i.e. Energy, Food & Agribusiness, Asset Based Lending, Government & Nonprofit)
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in commercial banking.
  • Completed formal credit training program

  • Provide strong credit knowledge.

  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions, to consistently deliver on commitments, and assume responsibility for results

Work Environment:

  • Office setting with traditional hours.
  • Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours).
  • Must be able to work overtime to the extent necessary.
  • Must be able to work additional hours outside routine business hours to the extent necessary.
  • Must be able to travel – estimated at 10% of the time.
