Job Summary
Under the general supervision of a Recreation Specialist and Program Coordinator, the Recreation Leader II will develop and lead Summer Camp sites and participants.  Oversees Recreational Leader I, opens/closes facilities, manages money, records registration, and performs daily office tasks. This is a seasonal position. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays and help in other divisions as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety and well-being of campers, program participants and staff
• Rotates and moves around to supervise children in a variety of settings including indoor, outdoor with possible exposure to inclement weather conditions
• Develops, leads, and supervises at assigned recreation programs/activities. after school sites, summer camp sites, recreation centers, rental facilities, and events for participants of all ages
• Leads and supervises assigned Recreation Leader I team
• Develops and implements lesson plans for children ages 5-13 in areas of recreation, adventure, education, and enrichment
• Provides exceptional service without exception; effectively communicates with children, parents, co-workers, and other City employees
• Receives money, records registration, and membership information
• Performs facility attendant duties for recreation centers and rental facilities
• Oversees inventory and property management.
• Performs daily tasks to include cleaning, answering phones, and general office related tasks
• Maintains essential records, prepares reports as required; to include but not limited to participation reports, usage reports, accident reports, and work orders
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of three years of high school
• One summer season of working in a summer camp environment

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year experience working with children
