JOB SUMMARY: Improve the production process by eliminating waste, identifying root cause for problems using various lean manufacturing tools such as 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone analysis. Should be familiar with six sigma and lean concepts to devise an efficient system that will integrate workers, machines and materials to produce a high quality product and service. Other skills include supply chain concepts,
production scheduling and economic analysis. Should thrive to support all the production technique and keep up to date knowledge in it. Concepts in inventory management including Kanban system, inventory replenishment cycles, monitoring and managing the usage of optimal raw materials in the warehouse and reduce inventory cost. Basic understanding of the vacuum forming, rotational molding and CNC manufacturing. Strong time management, aptitude, creative problem solving and quantitative skills are additional qualities of Industrial
Engineer/ Manufacturing Engineer.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Determine and implement efficient
    ways to manufacture and assemble components.
  • Perform continuous improvement
    exercises to improve efficiency.
  • Design, establish and sustain
    manufacturing production LEAN process and work cells in preparation for
    the work.
  • Create and sustain manufacturing
    value streams.
  • Create and audit work instructions,
    SOPs and VSMs.
  • Design manufacturing floor plans
    presentable to upper management and customers and then implement in
    collaboration with Engineering and Production.
  • Support new business initiatives in
    facility design and layout to include in material handling equipment,
    storage and production areas.
  • Work collaboratively with
    operations management to develop and execute strategic planning goals.
  • Analyze and determine capacity
    planning, productivity rates and staffing requirements with task specific
    productivity standards through time and motion study tools (ergonomic
    tools).
  • Investigate new capital equipment
    and advice team on what to purchase defended with ROIs and thoroughly
    collected and analyzed evidence.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Minimum:Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering

Preferred:2 years’ experience in manufacturing plus proficient AutoCAD experience. Strong continuous improvement background with RCCA focus (Six Sigma, Black belt, Lean, Kaizen experience).

Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate proficient knowledge of Access, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word Processing, Adobe and Internet software.

Other Requirements: Excellent communication (written & verbal), interpersonal and organizational skills as well as effective time management. Complex problem solving and critical thinking. Utilization of technical writing skills (i.e. Corrective action
reports, Procedures, Quality Manual). •Knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems a plus. Possess strong time management and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead projects from inception through completion.
