Zoo Seasonal Rides and Attractions - Seasonal 

Hourly Rate: ­ $10.15 - $15.98

 

 

Job Summary:  The Zoo Worker in the Rides and Experiences department provides patrons with rides and experiences through great customer service. The rides and experiences team operate the Train, Sky Adventure Ropes Course and Zipline, Mobility Rentals, Carousel, and Sky Safari Sky Glide. To deliver great customer service to our guests the zoo worker will need to provide up-to-date knowledge on zoo exhibits, pricing and rates and a friendly delivery of the services we provide.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cash Handling - Accurately and efficiently completing a transaction with a guest using a point-of-sales system.  Transactions may be completed with cash, card, tap, gift card, zoo pass.  All transactions must be completed using the point-of-sales system.

 

  • Ride Operator - The operations of rides and attractions includes operating the rides, learning of safety procedures, assisting of guests on and off rides, and providing intro speeches to guests about safety during the ride or experience.

 

  • Customer Service - Providing timely, attentive, accurate, upbeat service to Zoo Patrons, and making sure their needs are met in a manner that upholds the standards of the Milwaukee County Zoo.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Eligible applicants must be at least 16 years of age upon application.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred.
  • Previous work experience with cashiering or money handling preferred.
  • Previous work experience in Customer Service preferred.
  • Lifting/Carrying and Pushing/Pulling 50 lbs
  • Should have a firm understanding of safety procedures set in place to uphold those standards of employer.
  • Working in atmospheres involving heights.

 

Note: This Original Examination is open to all qualified applicants authorized to work in the United States.  In accordance with Rule III section 11 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of a review of candidate materials, education and related experience.
