Cash Clerk-Combined Courts

Hourly Pay Rate: $14.86 - $19.06

Closing Date: May 25, 2022 or sooner upon receipt of the first 50 application submissions


Job Summary: Under general supervision, perform cash handling, receipting of various forms of payments, document processing and customer service for the Combined Courts. Click here to enter text.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receipts cash and other negotiable instruments for payments of court fees using the CCAP receipting system. Applies payments to the correct court cases and/or accounts. 
  • Balances and reconciles cash drawer, credit cards and cash payments. Prepares bank deposits, maintains and minimizes the General Trust, CRDEP and TRDEP accounts.
  • Processes incoming mail, reinstates license suspensions, satisfies civil judgements and processes warrant cancellations for paid obligations. Prepares civil judgments, fines and cost commitments. Match and review cash bail forms.
  • Provides financial information to customers at window and other state agencies.
  • Filing, photocopying and scanning.
  • Performs o ther duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Current resident of the State of Wisconsin
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • One year of cash handling experience

Preferred Experience:

  • One year of Bookkeeping or Accounting experience

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Exchange of basic information with internal and/or external contacts.
  • Limited external contact to: gather information, answer queries, or ask assistance
  • Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Makes decisions of responsibility involving evaluation of information; decisions may require development or application of alternatives or precedents.
  • Understand and follow instructions.
  • Work of relatively routine nature. Requires the ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Generally structured work, but involving a choice of action within limits of standard policy and procedures.

 

Physical Demands: Standing, Walking/Running, Sitting, Reaching, Bending/Kneeling, Hearing, Talking, Visual, Typing, Writing, Fine Dexterity, Manual Dexterity, Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion.

Lifting/Carrying up to 10 lbs., Pushing/Pulling up to 25 lbs.

 

Non-Physical Demands: Analysis/Reasoning, Communication/Interpretation, Math/Mental Computation, Reading, Sustained Mental Activity (i.e., auditing, problem solving, grant writing and composing reports, etc.).

 

Environmental Demands: Working Independently, Task Changes, Tedious/Exacting Work, High Volume Public Contact, Dust and Physical Danger

 

Work Schedule: Routine shifts hours. Infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation.   

 

Demands/Deadlines: Intermittent or cyclical work pressures with occasional exposure to high stress work environments.
