Position Summary: The Regional Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial data, producing and reviewing the P&L and driving profitability for approximately 10-12 hotels.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Verifying cash receipts throughout the month to ensure everything balances for the end of month financial preparation
  • Verifying deposits are hitting the bank
  • Reviewing Accounts Payable for accuracy
  • Reviewing  incoming invoices for the hotels; assisting the Corporate Controller with selecting accounts for the payments of the AP
  • Monitoring hotel Accounts Receivable to ensure the hotel is accountable for their billing and collections
  • Monitoring hotel charge backs; understanding the reason for the charge back and prepare appropriate responses
  • Calculating, processing and paying the monthly sales and use occupancy tax for the hotels, ensuring that we receive tax exempt back up for the taxes being processed
  • Completing monthly bank reconciliations for the hotels
  • Compile end of month data to prepare journal entries and accruals
  • Reviewing and entering the hotels pre-paid expenses on a monthly basis
  • Preparing financial statements, review for accuracy ensuring corrections are made before its published
  • Assisting hotels with budget preparation as needed
  • Maintain a balance sheet reconciliation upon completion of the P&L
  • Analyze financial data of operations, in order to advise hotel management and to assist in maintaining an efficient operation
  • Review the 30/60/90 day forecasts, ensuring accuracy

    Requirements - Degree in Hospitality preferred.
