Sr. Accountant

 We’re currently seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our Headquarters team!

The Sr. Accountant will have a solid foundation in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to drive all aspects of the month-end close process while building new controls and processes. In this position, you must be deadline driven and knowledgeable in accounting while also enjoying data, handling reconciliations, and taking ownership of key financial processes. The successful candidate must be a driven, high energy, detail-oriented individual that can work well with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. They will be expected to problem solve, recommend solutions and exercise good business judgment while performing their function. This position is a high visibility role, with opportunity to create action plans and drive change. 

What you will do:

• Responsible for the monthly accounting close including preparing journal entries, analyzing and explaining fluctuations and variances, and providing meaningful financial reporting to management.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business partners including Finance, Operations, Tax, and Technology teams to maintain flow of communication and support.
• Understand relevant accounting principles and communicate the application of GAAP to peers and business partners.
• Analyze current procedures. Recommend, develop, and drive process improvements to achieve efficiency and scalability.
• Work with internal and external auditors regarding accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and support documentation. 
• Assess internal controls, identify gaps in the control process, and design additional controls to solve deficiencies.
• Experience working with U.S. GAAP and SOX procedural and documentation requirements

How you will shine:

• Minimum of three (3) years of professional accounting experience
• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Working knowledge of Oracle or NetSuite is preferred
• Skilled in analyzing and interpreting large volumes of financial data with precision and efficiency.
• Previous accounting experience with a publicly traded company preferred but not required
• Experience with multi-location retail or consumer services companies preferred but not required
• Active Certified Public Accountant license preferred but not required
• Masters of Business Administration or Masters of Science in Accounting preferred but not required
