INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR | JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

SUMMARY 

At Magnolia, the Information Technology Director is responsible for managing the strategy and execution of the IT infrastructure. This position devises and establishes IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by leadership. It also coordinates and directs the functions of the IT team and ensures successful collaboration with other teams and businesses within Magnolia. The primary technologies the Information Technology Director will steward include Azure, Google Suite, NetSuite, Salesforce, Shopify, and both Mac and Windows platforms. This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas. It reports to the executive level and has supervisory responsibilities 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Uphold Magnolia’s manifesto and values 
  • Create and maintain business relationships with company leadership to align IT resources 
  • Establish and support cross-functional relationships across the organization to strategize and prioritize IT support for organizational goals 
  • Translate business needs into cost-effective and efficient IT solutions 
  • Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate information technology solutions to meet business needs 
  • Procure efficient and cost-effective technology solutions, equipment, and software 
  • Oversee the development of security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with standards 
  • Evaluate and maintain company adherence to federal technology requirements for security 
  • Develop and support KPIs for measurement and team development 
  • Develop and manage various external vendor relationships 
  • Implement project management best practices for application lifecycle management using various frameworks including scrum, waterfall, and agile 
  • Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruptions to business operations in the event of emergency situations
  • Analyze, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements and other metrics and needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned  

 
QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Hard skills: Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems 
  • Soft skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational and leadership skills 
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology from a 4-year college or university required 
  • Experience: 7-10+ years of IT leadership experience required 
  • Experience with middleware and analytics software 
  • Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications 
  • Experience in stewarding an information technology budget with a forward-thinking mindset 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
