We are currently seeking per diem therapists to provide community-based services to youth in Onondaga or Oswego County!

 

Position Summary:

The Youth and Family Therapist is primarily responsible for providing direct therapeutic services to children and families receiving Medicaid in Oswego County. The therapist will also provide assessment/evaluation services to Medicaid families. The Therapist will operate on a fee for service model and have the flexibility to build their caseload and schedule as they see fit.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducts licensed evaluation (assessment) including gathering data from parents, children and other relevant sources.
  • Develops treatment plans
  • Generates a recommendation outlining medical necessity for services
  • Provides psychotherapy (counseling) to children and families in a home-based setting in addition to telehealth services.
  • Provides crisis intervention activities as needed.
  • Maintains and updates individual client case records utilizing the EVOLV computer system.
  • Must be able to work independently and with flexibility. Most youth are available after school hours, ranging from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Weekends are an option but not expected  

Qualifications:

  • Must meet the NYS Medicaid qualifications for a non-physician licensed behavioral health practitioner (NP-LBHP).  This includes Licensed Psychoanalysts, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, and Licensed Masters Social Workers under the supervision of LCSW, licensed Psychologists or Psychiatrists. 
  • Experience providing home-based counseling to children and families and completing assessment and treatment planning preferred.
  • Must have a valid New York State driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

Pay: 

Evaluation: $23.22 per 15 min billable unit ($92.87 per billable hour)

OLP Counseling Individual: $17.37 per 15 min billable unit ($69.48 per billable hour)

OLP Counseling Individual (Offsite): $22.15 per 15 min billable unit ($88.58 per billable hour)
