Position Summary:

Liberty Resources, is seeking a per diem Masters or Bachelors level individual to provide Community Psychiatric Support Treatment (CPST) under the CFTSS model to youth living in Onondaga or Oswego County. CPST includes time-limited goal-directed and solution-focused interventions intended to achieve the goals and objectives outlined in an individual's Treatment Plan. CPST is designed to be provided in the youth's natural environment within the community, such as the home, school, other community locations, or via tele-health services. The CPST Specialist will operate on a fee for service model and have the flexibility to build their caseload and schedule as they see fit.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist youth with identifying strategies and practicing strategies to address mental health and/or substance use needs using evidence-based and best practice techniques.
  • Provide supportive counseling to youth and their family using solution focused interventions, emotional and behavioral management, and problem behavior analysis to restore stability, to support functional gains, and to adapt to community living.
  • Facilitate participation in and utilization of strengths based planning and treatments which includes assisting youth and family members with identifying strengths and needs, and developing goals and objectives to utilize personal strengths resources and natural supports to address functional deficits.
  • Assist youth with effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors or triggers and developing a crisis management plan.
  • Build relationships and collaborates with clinical treatment providers, care coordinators, and other supports to determine continuation of care and makes recommendations for modifications to an individual’s Plan of Care. 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree and two years applicable experience in children's mental health, addiction, and/or foster care/child welfare/juvenile justice. Master’s degree in social work, psychology or in related field preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and access to reliable transportation. 

Required Skills:

  • Sensitive to cultural differences and able to incorporate that understanding into service provision.
  • Demonstrates initiative, sound judgment and understanding of issues affecting individuals and families in the mental health and substance use system.  
  • Must be able to work independently and with flexibility. Most youth are available after school hours, ranging from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Weekends are an option but not expected.
  • Laptop with internet access, internet explorer, and the ability to use Zoom.

 

Pay: $10.39 per 15 min billable unit ($41.56 per billable hour)

 $12.53 per 15 min billable unit ($50.13 per billable hour- Off-site)
