The Senior Graphic Designer is a full-time, exempt, individual contributor position. This position will produce and oversee the design of marketing materials, sustainability (CSR/ESG) reports, infographics, presentations, corporate stationery and presentation templates, web page user interfaces, and other communications collateral for our public and private sector clients, highlighting sustainability goals and progress. The role will also support RE Tech’s internal design needs, brand initiatives, and corporate identity.

For an individual to succeed in this role, they should have an in-depth knowledge of graphic design, style and layout techniques, and design principles with a strong portfolio in relevant applications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Lead the graphic design of materials for print and digital use, such as CSR reports, infographics, posters, banners, flyers, promotional signage, and website content – primarily utilizing applications within the Adobe Creative Suite – from conception to delivery.
  • Design and layout documents and presentation slides utilizing RE Tech and client-provided templates while strictly adhering to all relevant brand and style guidelines.
  • Deliver high-quality design projects on time with minimal supervision and correction.
  • Engage in design layout explorations, conceptualizing ideas through design, illustration, typography, photography, etc. utilizing an appropriate mix of custom design and licensed stock resources.
  • Liaising with off-site print vendors and delivery of approved print-ready design files.
  • Work with multiple teams, clients, and management. 
  • Engage with junior designers for support and ensure continued high-quality work.
  • Provide rationales for design choices and approaches, as needed.
  • Work with internal and external clients to establish timelines and effectively communicate workplans and progress.
  • Perform all other duties as needed and assigned.

  • Excellent time management skills with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and priorities, meet deadlines, and be accountable for delivering high-quality work on time.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing timelines and client needs, being able to pivot and adjust priorities and approaches to ensure client and internal needs are being met in a timely manner and with good humor.

  • High degree of initiative, proactiveness, drive, enthusiasm, and follow through.
  • Strong proofreading skills and excellent attention to detail, especially for consistency in design within a given project or for a specific client.
  • Ability to clearly discuss design and conceptual approach to creative problem solving.
  • Ability to identify and learn from mistakes to take corrective action.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic fine arts, communications, or marketing with focus on graphic design, communication design, digital arts, or related field. Or 5+ years of proven work experience as a Senior Graphic Designer, Graphic Designer, or similar role.  
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in graphic design.
  • Strong portfolio with samples of previous design work, ideally of public-facing and corporate materials and report designs, demonstrating graphic design, typography, and storytelling.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat required. Photoshop and Dreamweaver experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with online collaboration and file sharing tools, such as SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Experience in editing content on websites (such as in Wordpress and SquareSpace) is a plus.
  • Tertiary understanding and ability to code in HTML and CSS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate, sustainability, and/or ESG preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
