RE Tech Advisors, Inc (RE Tech) is currently seeking a highly motivated ESG Data and Compliance Analyst to support our growing organization, located in Tysons Corner, VA (DC Metro area). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to serve as an analytical and technical support for RE Tech’s growing data management, analytics, and business intelligence platform and services. Our data services help real estate professionals, institutional investors, and an array of other stakeholders to better monitor and manage costs, make informed investment and operational decisions, mitigate risk, and progress toward energy and sustainability goals. We help national voluntary public-private partnership programs, such as the Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Initiative and the US Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR® Program, to drive market transformation and achieve goals. Our data platform includes, but is not limited to, the following technologies: SQL Server, Power BI, Python, SharePoint, and Windows Server. 

Essential Functions:
  • Serve as a data and compliance support on a team of analysts and consultants, providing support to RE Tech’s private and public sector clients. 
  • Interact with and use tools such as MS Excel, SQL Server, and Python on daily basis. 
  • Continuously improve data collection, reporting, and compliance processes. 
  • Monitor current and emerging  building efficiency ordinances, benchmarking requirements and disclosures. Distill information and distribute 1-pagers, presentations internally / externally. 
  • Support the design, development, and deployment of interactive tools, reports, and dashboards with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI or similar tools. 
  • Support the review and quality control process for data sets and identify issues or anomalies in accuracy, completeness, reliability and timeliness. 
  • Perform all other duties as needed and assigned and deliver high quality products on time. 
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to harvest and develop relationships with NGOs. 
  • Knowledge of or passion for energy, sustainability, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data (i.e. utility data, ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager APIs, GRESB etc.). 
  • Knowledge of building energy efficiency ordinances on federal, state, and local levels.   
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server and MS Power BI family of products.  
  • Working knowledge and intermediate level competence in Python. 
  • Familiarity with JSON, XLM, HTML, and Web services. 
  • Understanding of statistics and data analytics.  
  • High degree of proactiveness, drive, enthusiasm, and energy. 
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Familiarity with Web development frameworks such as Python Django is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of sustainability in the built environment and building science a plus.  
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences, business or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct professional experience in compliance and data analytics and visualization. 
  • Minimum of 1 year in a consulting environment. 
  • Demonstrable interest/experience in sustainability and ESG initiatives (preferred, but not required)
