The Advertising Operations Paginator is responsible for working with the pagination system.  This includes (and is not limited to) all duties assigned to a paginator and layout artist.  The Advertising Operations Paginator reports directly to the Advertising Operations Director and indirectly.  This person works closely with all Advertising sales representatives, managers and newsroom locally and regionally to paginate all pages and sections and to help identify pagination issues.  This person also works with the Advertising staff to coordinate ad materials and information concerning ads, with a common goal of meeting daily deadlines.




  1. This includes: being on call during off-work hours, communicating with the departments regarding pagination issues, documenting the problems and solutions related to pagination troubleshooting, working closely with the System Administrator and working closely with Management to identify pagination issues
  2. Assist in set up and testing of future pagination system upgrades
  3. Work closely with Sales Support and Managers in identifying the size of sections, understanding any specific needs of each section, such as special placement needs, square-offs, color, in order to paginate the section correctly and on deadline.
  4. Work closely with personnel and Advertising Operations personnel in coordinating all production information pertinent to all products to always meet deadlines.
  5. Assist advertising personnel, especially with the coordination of ad materials into and through the production system, always meeting deadlines.
  6. Work closely with the personnel in advertising layout and with various outsourced departments to determine any special layout needs always meeting deadlines.
  1. Must understand the workflow of ad production and paper planning technology.
  2. Monitors appropriate application(s) to ensure that all ads are ready for typesetting deadlines.
  1. Have a working knowledge of the Windows-based computer systems, including Excel, Word, In-Design, PhotoShop
  2. Have a working knowledge of how to search for and retrieve ad materials and information from the Internet.
  3. Assist in other projects as requested by the Advertising Operations Management.
  4. Use company-wide communications tools for e-mail and be able to navigate on the company network.
  5. Proofreading all work, supporting the department’s assigned goal for accuracy.
