A New Leaf’s East Valley After School and Summer Program is a safe space for children to learn positive coping skills and move past personal challenges. Offering a compassionate environment, with attentive, trained staff – this program is a critical community resource for low-income families struggling to find services for their children.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 (depending on years of experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday 11:30am-7:30pm

Location: Mesa, AZ

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Document (verbal/written) and submit significant and routine paperwork such as progress notes, statistics reports, daily activities, upcoming events, special concerns, varied incident reports, etc., as required by the program and submit to appropriate personnel.
  • Utilize Positive Behavioral Support methodology when planning/participating in the activities to support child/family specific treatment goals.
  • Engages in Family Centered, strengths-based treatment planning and coordination and reports client needs to Child and Family Team.   
  • Strengthens connections to positive community resources identified by the Child and Family Team. 
  • Serves as a member of a Child and Family Team, if requested by the family and attends all Child and Family Team meetings.
  • Develops and maintains therapeutic relationships with clients and significant support systems.
  • Provides information, education and guidance to clients and support system members, advocacy, and coordination of care.    
  • Maintains accurate, through and current documentation of contact with clients/families.  
  • Ensures confidentiality of verbal and written client/family information.  
  • Provides minimal tutoring/help with homework, if applicable.   

Qualifications:

Education: 

  • High School or GED required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s preferred

Experience:

  • Six (6) weeks behavioral health experience or 2 college courses that are behavioral health related
